"The contributing approaches to Language and Literature" was the topic of a workshop hosted by the English department of the Koya University Faculty of Education.

On Tuesday, May 9, 2023, in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Education of Koya University, Prof. Dr. Safin Jalal and a significant number of lectures and students of the Department of English Language Education in the Faculty of Education at Koya University organized a workshop entitled “The contributing approaches to Language and Literature” in the Tahir Bakr hall in the Faculty of Education.

The workshop was divided into two panels where the English language lecturers from the department discussed various aspects of English language and literature. Also the first panel was moderated by Asst. Lect. Zhino Jawhar. 

Dr. Ahmed Abdulaziz presented an article titled "Moral or Humanistic Approach of Studying Literature" that discussed moral or humanistic motivations for studying literature.

Asst. Lect. Daban Qasim presented a paper titled "Metaphors and PTSD" that discussed the connections, consequences, and resources available to PTSD sufferers.

Asst. Lect. Sara Jamal presented a paper titled "Current Approaches and Methods in Language Teaching" that discussed recent approaches and strategies for teaching languages.

Asst. Lect. Dilêr Aswad moderated the second panel, which covered the following subjects:

Asst. Prof. Dr. Payman Zorab discussed the topic of "Inquiry Based Learning" in her presentation.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Bakhtiar Omar presented a paper titled "Common Misconceptions about Applied Linguistics" that discussed these misconceptions.

Lecturer Burhan Salih focused on the topic of using mother Tongue when teaching English in his presentation, "Using Mother Tongue in English Language Teaching."

The panels concluded with questions and answers from the presenters, and in a separate part, the presenters received their certificates of participation.
