Koya University has been selected by Erasmus Mundus Action 2 supported by Europen Union as one of the universities representing the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The Erasmus Mundus programme aims to enhance the quality of higher education and promote dialogue and understanding between people and cultures through mobility and academic cooperation. The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) is responsible for the management of all three actions of Erasmus Mundus, under the supervision of the Directorate-General for Education and Culture (DG EAC of the European Commission) and EuropeAid Development and Cooperation (DG DEVCO).

The lot #3 of the Erasmus Mundus Action 2 had its project launched under title Marhaba on 13th and 14th of Oct 2014 at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Spain. The meeting allow the member to introduce their universities and interact as well as have an input how the collaboration need to be shaped for the next 4 years. The application for the first round will be open in Nov 2014 till mid Dec 2014. further details on terms and conditions will be posted on dedicated web to Marhaba project soon. Applicants are urged to work on their language proficiency qualification.
